These aquatic plants thrive in vast carpets along the swamps and bayous in southern Louisiana, these being in Jean Lafitte NP a couple of weeks ago. Sort of reminds me of something Jackson Pollock might have photographed. Full frame, larger image included, which I had to compress quite bit to get under 500k.

E-5 ZD50-200 Manfrotto 410 geared head on GT2531, ISO 100 1/6 f7.1 -1/3EV 4 sec delay with MLU.

The blue and green complement each other well, and lots of details in the larger image. Well done.

Works nicely for me, Bill - all those flecks of blue water and different shades of green give it a lively quality that keeps the eye roving.

Bill:

A very interesting almost abstract piece. The random sprinkling of reflected sky works really well. :toast:

Environmentally these are a disaster in upsetting the ecology of aquatic systems, both by shading out the water from sunlight and consuming oxygen. They are actually a type of fern, native to Brazil. As a photograph, I like the contrast provided by the plants, the water and the sunlight.

The pattern and color combination are great. This creates interest and not confusion.

Bill: One would think that shots like this are easy to pull off but I know better. Marvelous frame filling details and edge to edge sharpness. Nicely done. >=))>

Bill - I love frames like these with repeating shapes. The tiny gaps are nicely filled with blue-ish blacks.
