Blue Palouse

From my Spring trip to the Columbia Gorge earlier this year. Perched on the edge of the cliff in the dark, overlooking the 198ft Palouse Falls is certainly something I won't forget anytime soon.. especially with all the bats that were buzzing me that night.

This is a blend of 4 images, starting at twilight and ending when it became dark enough to see the star studded sky.

Thanks for looking and for any comments, oh, and don't forget to check out the Larger version. Best viewed in a dark room!

Very dreamy Zack. Seems more like a painting than an image but in this case I like it a lot.

It looks natural and unreal to me simultaneously.

Zack, you are sure doing some fascinating work. All I can say is print it big and sell it large. :toast: :toast:

Lovely water flow… creamy. And smart blend to utilize the evening light on the walls …esp the right side which from my experience there can be pesky as it relies on bounce of light from facing rock wall. Lovely stars to top it all off.

Utterly surreal Zack. I think I might neutralise the deep cyan of the darker tones by injecting some red there but otherwise very nice.

Quite a different take on a night-time scene. The blue works, but, as Ian mentioned, the cyan is a little heavy. The expansive view gives a great sense of scale.

Excellent night photo Zack!
The color grew on me, at first look a bit too blue, but the more I look the more I like it.
The land is really nice and the water has a nice flow to it.
Very well done image of this falls.

Pretty sweet here. Looks like the wb is too green here...esp evident in the top portion of land from the horizon down about 1/4. Could have preferred the bottom not cut off too but the light in the scene is pretty fun. Nice take.

Nice effect Zack. You were always good at these night shots. Most of my attempts suck. I am not much for walking around in the dark either especially in this part country. You never know what you are going to bump into. There is a black bear with two cubs hanging out this side of Tower we saw yesterday. Hope all is well there in Silver Gate. Beauty of a shot!

One of my favorite of your recent images. The star scape really makes it unique. I like the white ribbon of water flowing left to right around the bend as well.
