On a small Adirondack lake at sunrise I startled this family out of the grasses on the shore.

It's a lovely scene, nicely photographed, but the duck and ducklings are so small they feel like an afterthought, lost in the warm sunrise.

Hi Stephanie: I think this is an image that has potential. I'm guessing that when you witnessed this scene, then captured it, the two didn't quite match up. I like the fog/mist in the background. I don't care for the bright sky up top. I'm going out on a limb here with some pretty radical processing of this image. I removed the middle plant in the foreground, did a significant crop, and then worked on the overall exposure and tones in the image. See what you think. This may not be what you were after at all. If not, then I hope it might provide some insight into where images can go with what was captured. Take a look and see what you think. Love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks Keith. I like what you've done with this. I definitely need more experience with processing to get the most out of these images.
