Trinity River Trash

The Trinity River has made remarkable strides from being a dead river decades ago to a vibrant part of the Texas eco system. Water from the river makes its way to the Gulf of Mexico.
Having been on two canoe trips, one up and one down the river the amount of plastic bags and Styrofoam cups trashing the waterway is stunning at times.
Austin has banned plastic trash bags and look forward to all of Texas doing the same. Time to step up and make our waterways free of plastics.

The trash that gets left hanging from the trees after a high water event always grabs me also...maybe someday we'll learn as a society to take care of our home.
