Well it's nice to see that your camera worked for this one. This looks great, Sandy. The strong colors in this light and a beautiful perch to boot make this one shine... :toast:

The 500 was fully functional until about the last 10 days, thank God, and I was able to "make do" with the 80-400 that last 10 days, although I know I missed a # of good shots that were just too distant.

Normally birds-against-the-sky are not among my favorites, but this is the exception to the rule. Love the setting, pose, perch.. :toast: :toast: Well done, Hans

Sandy,
This eagle looks like the diva in a 50s movie. What a fun shot. The color contrast is stunning. :toast:

Hi Sandy,

I was wondering when you were going to post images from your Africa trip. I like warm colors next to grays---one of my favorite color combos. The posture and perch also make this an interesting combo..........................................Jim

Nice detail and vivid colors work very well against the gray sky. And while I find the perch has great character and the image works well as posted, I think the comp might be stronger without the overhanging section.

I think you are having too much fun. Nice work against that bright sky. And a lovely bird, nicely captured.

Sandy,
Although the books say Short Tailed Eagle, nobody that I know uses that hopeless name

Great image of Africa's greatest raptor, I have only seen immature for ages! :toast: :toast:
