One usually does not see mushrooms around here. The pre-monsoon showers, and very heavy probably got some of these out. Probably my first mushroom image, worked on the backlight and the rain drops in the grass. Early Morning...camera and photographer flat on the ground..

7D, 100 ISO, F5 with Extn, 1/160

Thanks NPN for your support

Balan - Nice subject and a good low level perspective. You have not mentioned the focal length used --> a large focal length could have blurred the foreground even more (perhaps).

I am perfectly fine with those OOF highlights in the background but wish the tiny highlights from raindrops/dew were not so close to the Mushroom. But not something you could control I guess.

I'm with Ram on the rain drops Balan, just a tad distractive to me. I do like the perspective.

Balan:

Excellent low level image; the camera must be sitting on the ground??

I'm fine with the combination of light/smaller specular highlights throughout.
They do tell the story of damp, rainy environment.
The concentration of lighter ones help draw your eye to the subject & enhance/add to, without distracting IMHO..
Well done! :toast:

Beautiful image Balan. I think the backlight showing through the bottom of the mushroom and the droplets of water add a lot. Well done!

Great bokeh, nice cram effect, and a nice glow coming from the 'shroom. Excellent shot.

Love the low perspective. I will strike a balance and wish that about half the specular highlights would be patched out. Too much of a good thing, IMO.
