Part of the Mosaic

Common bird the House Finch. But I like the cheerful red head and breast of the male, & the bird’s long, twittering song.
An underrated 'part of the mosaic' on our property..

Great focus on the finch....But, I'm sorry about all the drought burned leaves :frown: We've gotten all the rain, and although it's better than drought, my roses are unhappy and turning a bit yellow.

He's a gorgeous specimen, Howard, and you caught him at his best. Nicely done.

Nice colors - rather fall like actually which is a fun twist on what is currently being posted. I like the palette of colors, the smooth background and the symmetry presented here. I do wish the head was all alone though and not backed by the OOF leaf which detracts somewhat

Really nice finch study, Howard. We have tons of them here in southern Utah. As the weather hits triple digits, I can't keep the bird feeders full enough. :toast:

Wonderful shot, love the colors. Being Dr. Frankenstein in post-processing, I would have cloned the leaves behind his head. But understand others who want to present a very natural shot. Good work. :toast:
