Angel with a Broken Wing

There is really no fitting gallery for this - not really Landscape and not Photo Art - wish there were a gallery for natural abstract, which would be more fitting. I enjoy shooting moving water scenes, as there is a lot of guesswork in terms of the results. I like to go through these files and attempt to choose what my interpretation might be in terms of an appropriate title. Shot last week along the Virgin River in Zion.

Bill, this works just fine in this gallery IMO. I think most general abstracts as we see & call them fit here better then the other galleries overall. The image name and your personal interpretation provides a nice idea of what to look for too.

I like the image as presented and cannot see any ideas for change beyond maybe a touch of contrast or saturation, but always subjective on those items. I'm thinking this was taken from a vantage point on one of the bridges over the Virgin River there? Regardless where and how, just a nice abstract look.

It makes me dizzy looking at it. I can image looking straight down from a bridge at the rushing water. Fine image.

I can see the angel. I also agree that a gallery for natural abstracts would be nice. I'm curious as to why you would use a tripod to shoot this. Seems the movement of the water would cancel out the advantage of a stable camera. Beautiful colors and a great sense of flow. I like the vertical comp as well.

Thank for the input. The original is in horizontal format. This was shot near the bank of the river at the Temple of Sinawava. Nancy, as to your question about the use of a tripod, I would NEVER attempt shooting a scene like this at 1/4 second without the use of a tripod.

Good eye to spot this Bill and a very nice abstract. Just the right amount of motion to this. I agree with Paul about a little
more sat and contrast but that's subjective. Very nicely done.

I see an apparition pointing with their left hand.

I like this a lot, Bill, and I agree that slight boost in contrast would be a good idea.

Great concept, here.

Bill, This is wonderful! Love the patterns and textures you captured in this. I wouldn't attempt this without a tripod either but then I use one probably 99% of the time anyways. A little contrast boost would be interesting to see. Very cool shot.

I would definitely say this is Landscape material. I wasn't very impressed with the thumbnail, but the actual image is very nice. A beautiful abstract Bill - well done.

Bill...am a big fan of these kind of images...love the concept ..and the end results ... may be a tad bit more contrast?

I don't see the angel , but it is an interesting choice to display this as a vertical. I think the exposure is a bit dark. The whites in the rushing water caps could be a bit whiter to my taste.
