A lovely image Scott.
Rich colours and good detail.
Composition wise, although you have drawn us right in to the woodpecker I feel that overall it is a bit cramped. Having said that I am not entirely sure which side(s) I would open up.
How the hell does the woody press its belly upagainst those spines without getting punctured? :toast:

Lovely color in this image and the perch adds some surreal element to the image (in a positive manner). Well done, Cheers, Hans

Very nice, great light and pose. I love these woodpeckers, amazing they're right at home on something that looks so inhospitable.

Absolutely gorgeous, Scott. I love the dof you used for this. Th cactus and bird are both nice and sharp and you still got a nice soft bg.

Sweet light and lovely color palette. Maybe just a bit tight at the bottom?
