Common Honey Bee, mining for gold:wink:
Cactus bloom with a bit of pink from thistle in this BG.
F/5.6, 1/640th, ISO 640, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 + 20mm ext. ring with monopod for support @ 9:49am & mostly cloudy this morning. Natural light. I used low speed continuous shooting mode, at 3 FPS each time I gained AF for this..

Great catch, Howard. Superb detail on the bee; outstanding considering this is in flight. The bee is well positioned in the frame. I like the way the flower dwarfs the bee. :toast:

Excellent capture of a bee in flight, Howard. The bee is very sharp. The cactus flower does look like a big goldmine to the small bee. For me, the purple color in the background is a lovely touch. Very well done! :toast:
