Over the Shoulder View

I have noticed over the last couple years a slight resurgence of these impressive animals. Located within our land there seems to be several fox dens in use. The mother fox continues to move the brood every few days, probably to keep the kits safe while she is away hunting for their next meal.
What I like about this capture is the three kits caught in differing looks. The centre kit has a very enquiring look to it .

This is Red Fox Kit.......... Red Fox ( Vulpes vulpes)

Taken in MOIRA @ Stonehearst Farm
Nikon D600 & Nikon 80-400mm F4 VR lens @400mm.
Hand held while lying on ground
Speed @ 1/400, F5.6, ISO 400, -.67 Meter adj.
Late Afternoon with intermittent Cloud cover

Not Baited, Not called in, Not lured in, WILD FOX

Comments and Critique appreciated

The large version shows excellent detail.

Really nice capture Bill. The center guy is sharp. I do wish the front guy was as sharp. Perhaps stopping down might have helped, but you would have been battling the shutter speed. Regardless, great shot.

Very cute kits, Bill. I, too, wish the one in the foreground was sharp as well.

Cute moment. I can appreciate that DOF is a challenge up close...
For me it needs a tad more at the bottom and less on top?

Great to get your Feedback, Thanks.

Kits were So close , difficult to get separation and more DOF .

Cheers

Super cute. Wishing that both fox faces were in focus - background looks noisy but must be from image compression given the techs provided
