Meet Frank

This is " Frank ", the leucistic bald eagle.Frank has had a few setbacks in life, but appears to be thriving. Besides standing out from the crowd with his partial lack of pigmentation, Frank has also lost the use of his left eye ( here is where you note that the skilled photographer got Frank from the right, his good side ). One would think this would cause problems with hunting, since I assume with only one eye, he lacks depth perception, and you would think that would be critical for fishing, but he appears healthy. Observing him here over several days, I have yet to see him fishing, but he does his share of stealing.

I liked the simplicity of the BG and how his white feathers were highlighted against it.

A neat looking specimen, Bob. I like the wing spread in this one. You might want to play with shadows/highlights to see if you can bring out a bit of detail in the underside of the wings-looks like you were in pretty bright light.

Nice stop action on this Bob. The image overall seems to be underexposed....it looks like you had tough light here...like it was taken late morning or possibly afternoon? That is creating heavy shadows. Also on the top left corner, the sky doesn't look to be the same color. Not sure if you cloned something, but you can easily go back and fill it with a more accurate color to match the rest of the sky.

Beautiful bird with nice sharp details, agree that the lighting is a little hard, :toast:

Hi Kurt

BG is actually two sets of distant mountains, not sky, the deep blue making that difficult to decipher I suppose. Overall, just plain difficult lighting conditions, as you may well guess, I have to own up to doings lots of PS adjustments and the yellow/blue adjustments force some compromises often.
