Slide Rock Cascades

Here in Northern Arizona, we have a super destructive wildfire raging in Oak Creek Canyon between Sedona and Flagstaff, one of our beloved natural areas. The extent of the destruction won't be known until the fire is taken under control, but we do know that it probably won't be pretty. The name of the fire is the Slide Fire, because it started near the location of this photograph, Slide Rock State Park. I feel fortunate to least have visited Oak Creek a few times in the last couple months so I was able to get some enjoyable times there directly before this disaster. This photo was taken back in March. Comments/critiques welcome! Lastly, thoughts going out to those in harm's way of the Slide Fire (Doug and Adam especially).

I like the composition a lot, but to me there seems to be a slight magenta color cast. I've not been there so maybe this is accurate as presented.

This is a lovely photograph and a sad story, one that I think we in the west will be posting frequently this fire season. We never know if one of our photos will be a record of what once was. It looks like a beautiful spot.

Nice capture and the colors seem a bit off in white water area.
God Bless all in the danger zone. :wavey:

Nice, Jake. Love the comp and the water texture. The color cast others mention isn't bothering me, but I would suggest backing off the orton effect in certain areas- particularly the rock. It works great on the water but is making the rock look a little soft.

Very pretty scene Jake and the water looks really nicely done and a nice comp also. I don't see any cast either but the orton looks strong causing detail to get lost or blur. Very nice image though.
