Taken at the Miller Park Zoo rainforest exhibit. I was looking for a particular bird, but could not resist the light on this saffron finch.
I like the bit of rim light on the tail.

Lovely light and a beautiful bird, John. Hard to say much about the BG, except to wish it were less complicated. The bird has a very commanding presence though, and more than makes the difference.

Gorgeous light, John, and it really suits this color of plumage. Lovely image.

Beautiful finch, nice light & detail John! :toast:
One suggestion would be to go with a 4:5 frame, eliminating some off the top..
Can I post my version?

Cropped to 4:5 to eliminate some off the top.
Lightened shadow on the breast/neck a tad.
Lastly, I went ahead & 'detagged' the bird as well..
