Long climb!

This gentoo penguin had a really long and steep climb to reach the summit of the peak that I was standing on, but it had not quite finished its walk. It still had to climb down on the other side to reach its nest to regurgitate the fish it had brought for its chick. It's a very hard life for these little guys.
Species: Gentoo penguin (Pygoscelis papua)
Location: South Georgia
Date: Nov, 2013
Equip: Canon 5D Mk3, Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens at 200mm
Specs: ISO 1000, (auto ISO), f8.0, 1/4000s, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 0 exp comp, hand-held

Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/critiques.

I like this active pose as it reaches the summit, great setting Ajit.
Good job exposing those whites in this bright sunlight, nice detail :toast:

Well processed with good action and a natural environment. I enjoy this kind of documentary shot more so than just a BOAS.

Lighting is a bit harsh and it looks like the blacks could be boosted a bit, but otherwise this is a really fine image. Nice walking pose and the background tells a story of the habitat and the fact that this bird must have made a long climb

Nice pose, Ajit. I do wish for a bit of a head turn, but this probably conveys the determination better.
