Blue Poppy 2

Here is another photo of the Blue Poppy…which I believe is also called the Himalayan Poppy.

The sun backlit this which added a glass-like translucency effect… due to the paper thin petals and colors. I like it better than the three blue poppy shot posted yesterday.

Zeiss 100mm with polarizer and Nikon d800e. F22 and about 1/2 sec shutter.

Oh…do check out the LARGER VERSION to appreciate the details.

Excellent flower photo artwork, nice processing, very good light, superb colors. Excellent contrast against black BG, outstanding details & textures. All in all a beautiful flower image. Well done Ken.

Gorgeous shot Ken. I love the translucency and the colors. The details are fabulous. I love the sphere shaped look to the stamen on the right bloom. Wonderful!

Ken - Another fine shot of the Himalayan Poppies. Love the light here which has highlighted the textures on the petals and the fine hairs on the stem.

The large version really shows excellent detail.

Ken, you have taken a splendid photo of this unbilievable beautiful poppies that I have never seen before. Thanks for sharing. This Himalayan flower has the colors of the glaciers, enhanced by the back light. Yellow and blue, hot and cold: a splendid color contrast.
Cheers.

Amazing image Ken! Perfect exposure on the translucent petals, great detail and wonderful color, I can't stop looking at it. I hope you print this one big! The colors with the black background really gives this a sophisticated look and help give the flowers an almost 3D look. :toast:
