Taken earlier this week in my yard so thought I'd sneak it in at the end of this challenge. Nex-6, zoom lens at 75mm, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/100, HH, Av mode. Comments and suggestions always welcome and thanks for viewing.

Great details and a very natural looking shade of red Jim.
My suggestion is to move off center, and/or frame this portrait style?
I would lighten the shadow on the rose itself a bit also.
Nice shot! :wavey:

Jim, The bud is nice and sharp. I agree with Howard about a portrait mode. I might consider darkening the bright part in the background above the bud. Good post for this Weekly Challenge.

Azalias are indeed beautiful flowers. This is a good look at a bud about to pop. I agree with Howard, that a vertical comp is likely to fit this better. It would also be good to have all of that lowest leaf in the frame, if possible.

A fine submission for this weekly challenge theme, Jim. I do find the look of new buds quite appealing. . .maybe it's the anticipation of the beauty that there is to come. You've gotten some great comments and suggestions from others that I would agree with, especially regarding a tighter crop. Nice colors and details.
