Another "capture" of a Catbird from my backyard. The light has been very nice when I get home from my real job, and I've been trying to take advantage of it.

50D, 700mm, ISO 800, F5.6, 1/125 LARGER version also posted. Thank you for your comments/critiques...I learn from them all! Sharon

Hi Sharon, nicely taken. I like the pose, sharpness and color of this image, but, I do think there may be a slight magenta cast. Also, if the bird was just a bit brighter than the BG I think it would have more impact. A nice capture of this bird. Thanks for sharing.

While I like the concept of this image, great background, nice pose, interesting perch, the image looks a bit flat to me. Even in muted light, I would have expected to see more exposure for the bird with a bit more pop. Here's a quick adjustment that I worked. See what you think. I did not work on the magenta cast which I agree is there.

Nice to get this guy out in the open with a clean bg. As posted it looked too dark and flat to me. Keith's repost is a nice improvement. :toast:

I agree with previous comments about the about the image being a bit dark with a magenta cast to it. Nits not withstanding, the background, pose, perch sharpness and detail are all very nice! Great capture Sharon.
The redo by Keith is very nice indeed.

Excellent techs and great background. I haven't often seen Catbirds in the open like this; good find, too. I agree with the others on the slight magenta case. Reflected light or odd camera setting?

I like Keith's brightening of the bird, but it emphasized the magenta tone.

That is sweet light and a gorgeous bg. I like the very subtle lighting in this one.

Really nice muted colors here Sharon, and a lovely bird as well. There seems to be a slight blueish cast on the perch? But other than that I really, really like the colors here :toast: :toast: , Hans
ps I do like the re-post even better I guess

Nice image of this Catbird Sharon. I also thought it to be a bit underexposed, but Keith's re-work seems to really work. Like the perch in this as well.

Sharon, Love the composition, soft light and wonderful background. A bird we just do not see on the west coast. Thanks for posting, Dave

Another wonderful shot. Are you sure Hans didn't take it. It has a wonderful soft, but tack sharp, quality he achieves.
