Death Trap

After 2011 drought I said I would never complain about rain again so here is a gruesome natural disaster caused by man and nature. I got off I45 after Buffalo, Texas to see how high the water had risen after last weeks pounding rains. The water in the upper right at end of asphalt kept me from going further and I noticed this fish on way back out. After parking and looking around I found about 15 or so of these 3-4 pound Buffalo fish stranded out of water after the pools from the overflow evaporated.
As I started shooting a truck of Spanish speaking men came up ready to scoop this guy and all the rest up. I assured them they could have them after my photographs. They then went down to the shallow water (upper portion of picture) and began hunting down stragglers with much success. These guys could make away with a hundred pounds of fish if they wanted.
I have seen men fishing this creek often and now I know why.

Interesting story and complimentary image Rick, really like how you've composed this.
So did you take any fish home for yourself?
Very well done :toast:
