Every spring the Hallerbos is dotted with millions of flowers, but it's the colourful carpet of bluebells that is always the most spectacular. Here the first sun rays were lighting the colourful beech leaves in the distance.

I think you went overboard on the blurriness. In all candor, it is too much for my eyes. I certainly appreciate your creativity, as you display in all of your posts. My favorite being The Lamp Shade.
Truth is, and all else said, I don't think this one is a keeper.

I like that you are doing something but as it is presented it doesn't work for me. I would crop some of the bottom, just too much of the frame real estate is blurred to look at this comfortably.

Interesting use of DOF to highlight the beech in the background. I think I would have liked to see the bluebells in focus in the mid ground just before the tree trunks.

Hi Ingrid :wavey: I have always loved your creative work... here i would crop half the bottom of the OF bluebells for more symmetry in the composition

i like the concept a lot. i wish for a little more light in the FG bluebells and perhaps slightly less green (i.e., the tones of the flowers only). good too for you to challenge us all!

I also like the concept here, Ingrid. I think to much of the frame is OOF . If it were mine I would crop to just below the tops of the bluebells. Then I think you are on to something.

I agree with the thoughts above Ingrid. I love the splashes of light in the back, but they are too small in the overall image. Cropping some of the lower blur would help.
