This lioness was photographed at the crack of dawn near a remote research waterhole in Etosha, Namibia. I was on foot and crouching next to our supply trailer, an awesome experience to say the least.

This is nearly all of full frame.

Techs:
Nikon D3s
Nikkor 500mm f4 VR-II
f4.0 | 1/640 SS | ISO-250

Hello Morkel

Like the detail to her legs positioning, with her In-Stride pose , giving a real sense of forward motion, and the strength through her wide chest is emphasized by this raised front leg,
Lighting is Sweet. would have liked to see more of her tail carriage, but nothing could be done about that.

What are those large droppings she is walking through? looks like a very busy site.

Thanks folks.

Bill - those are elephant droppings - yes it is a popular waterhole with elephants and a myriad of other animals...
