The weather in Central Kalahari Game Reserve was far from kind to us, but undoubtedly great for the inhabitants.
One cold wet and dull afternoon I spotted two shapes from our campsite and we went to investigate  The shapes turned out to be two fine male lions.

They really do make a very handsome pair, Ken. I am not too chuffed by the male on the left with his tongue out in that fashion, though.

Great capture here Ken. To get two side by side must have been a thrill. I love the looks they are giving you, especially the one on the right. Looks like they might have been considering you lunch.

Great capture Ken. Terrific that you've got both lions staring right at you.

Ain't no lion like a Kalahari lion, Ken. Lovely pair here, even looking wet and soaked they are impressive.

Nicely done Ken! I would agree with Ajit that it would be just a tad better if the one on the left had kept his tongue in his mouth. The look of the one on the right is so intense; it's like he's looking right through you.

Thanks everybody for your comments.
I must admit to being puzzled by the dislike of the tongue, but do not mind, I have some more "serious" shots of this pair :toast: :toast:

Great capture! Right one is serious but left one is somewhat comic.

I find the tongue to be an enhancement rather than a distraction in this instance, giving a sense of differing personalities to the pair. Excellent capture! Thanks for sharing.

Hey Ken, wow, fantastic looking brothers. Black and gold works for me on their manes. Sign me up for a shot of these two washed, fluffed and posed, in sweet light. That said - I'd be happy shooting them on a rainy day. Do they have a pride?

PS. Just got home a few days ago...I'll be in touch soon.

Thanks for the further comments :toast:
There is a "pride" we saw them together in the company of the President of Botswana, Ian Khama!
But only one female with two sub-adults including the naughty young male posted earlier.
