The Canyon of Crows ends in this unusual spiral formation of limestones and blue clays. Contrasts nicely with the warmer sandstone in the bg. Thanks for your suggestions on my last post and for taking a look at this one.

Cool perspective/composition and impressive colors. Good spot for a case of vertigo!

Brilliant color Nancy, and fine swirls.

Love the funnel affect and the out of focus foreground rocks help draw attention to the mysterious black hole. Makes me want to see what is down there.

Incredible reflected light here Nancy! I especially love the elegant curve as well. The cooler tones in the foreground add some wonderful depth, and I think you could bring that out even more by adjusting the white balance to be just a bit cooler.

This does get me curious, wanting to go down there to explore! You captured some wonderful light for sure. The foreground appears quite soft, which to me is a bit distracting, but perhaps it was intentional, so I'll stop here. :) I really like your comp

I would have liked the FG to be more in focus, but you have a nice lead in to the hole and very nice light.

Thank you all for the feedback. As usual, you've given me some valuable insight. Seems most of you are assuming this id a chute or a hole I'm shooting into and that's probably my fault. My love of the unusual and abstract probably caused this impression here. This is actually shit from very close to the canyon floor in an effort to emphasize the spiraling wall above me. There's no hole, I'm shooting from level ground. Sorry to cause any confusion and, again, thanks for the feedback

No need to apologize for any confusion. The photo has impact and is intriguing. To me, that’s what counts. It’s all good.

Easy to get disoriented! It's a bit of an optional illusion, and very cool for it!
