A truly magical image, You didn't list your aperture but some pretty decent DOF. Wonderful textures and colors.

I like that left rock…lots of detail and color…sets this image up nicely…As if I could place my hand on it an feel the grit. The greens are quite vivid… almost pulsing with spring growth. Nice shot!

I too like the contrast of green and warmer colors Dan. the striped patina on the upper left wall is really nice.

Nice scene, Dan. The greens seem a bit saturated relative to the rest of the canyon, but it may also be a result of the boost in shadows and/or highlight recovery. I would try Stan's suggestion of bringing up the brights a bit and that might solve it.

Very nice, Dan. Is this that nice little slot right off the Burr Trail Road?

Love the lush greens against the sandstone, Dan. Lots to like here - well done. I'm going to be traveling through Grand Staircase next week, and would be interested to know about locations in the area.

Bill,
thanks for the comment.
This was taken off the Burr trail in Longs Canyon about 10 miles from Boulder.
There is the Devils Garden south of Escalante, also Coyote Gulch, and numerous other slot canyons.
Calf Creek is a very nice area and I would also make the short drive to Capitol Reef, the best least used park in
Southern Utah.
Rent a 4 wheel drive and take the Cathedral loop.

Very nice, I love this mix of greens with the rust of the sandstone and it really looks like an entrance. Bravo!

Nice scene. I like the color contrast and the textures on the far left. Greens are a bit too nuclear for my taste though.

I too was struck by the red/green color contrast, which I assume is what you wanted to showcase. Very nice image Dan!

Very cool image! As said before, the mix of red and green makes this a great picture. The green does seem a bit unbelievable, and I think this would be just a stunning with it toned down a bit. Thanks for including the large version! Quite spectacular...

Beautiful job on this Dan. Great job on the comp and lighting. Maybe a bit less saturation in the greens but that's a personal thing. Great job.

Nice image Dan. I was near the same location last year in late April and I can attest to the vibrance of the greens in early spring. It was quite amazing. The color contrast here is very pleasing and you handled the dynamic range perfectly...makes me feel like I'm right there.

Greens, yes are a bit colorful but I think the sky is a little too dark to look completely natural. It seems like a tough scene to capture with some direct light.

Lovely. I like the foliage...it adds a hint of leafy solace which is sometimes rare to find in a slot canyon. Which slot is this? I've only done Spooky and Peek-A-Boo. Gotta get back down there soon.
Edit...just found the reply above with Burr Trail general locale. I'll look for Long Canyon. Sounds like a long one....
