Hard and Soft Waters is what I call a close-up landscape or landscape detail. Photo was taken Jan. 2nd this year in the Catskills here in NY.

Canon 1Ds 8 second exposure at f16, 24-70mm zoom at 51mm, 50 iso, Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter.

Enjoy Robert

A very nice intimate landscape, Robert. There is some wonderful stuff going on in the cascade and the dark rocks surrounding it. I find myself wishing the water was not dead center in the image though.

This is lovely! The title says exactly what is so special about this. Your choice of shutterspeed made the difference in hard and soft clear in a lovely way. The choice to go for B&W is a great one too. Having the fall centered and framed with the ice like this is gorgeous. Nothing to niggle about, it's great!!

Technically it's perfect. I like the centered waterflow as it's framed by the ice. It creates great geometry in the pic. I keep coming back and looking. It's beautiful.

Long exposure waterfall pictures are almost a cliche, but this one - this one is terrific. The streaks of the falling water and the soft splash are just perfect.

I love the sharpness of the ice with the softness of the flowing water. Well suited to BW. Beautiful image.

wonderful image, just one more reason to love black and white. I think the centered water fall lends itself to the composistion very well. It looks really cold but it sure is worth it for a beautiful image.

This is an exquisite photo. The water and important elements are tack sharp, of course it's a Canon, so I would expect nothing less. What a great photo cheers to you! One day I'll have one on here, hopefully just as nice. :toast: :jump: :toast: :jump: :toast: :jump: :wavey:
