Great quail shot, Charlie. The shadow really makes the comp pop!!! Background is also very clean.

This is wonderful, really showing off the state bird of California in its unique shape and gorgeous feathers. Nicely done!

Great look at this bird, Charlie. His shadow adds a fine touch of interest to the left side of the frame.

What a great avian shot. . .and also a great entry for the shadow theme, Charlie! And what a handsome bird! The clear shadow helps emphasize the unique and pleasing profile of this bird. The darker blurred background serves as a wonderful backdrop to showcase all of this fellows' beautiful designs and coloring. My only thought would be a slight crop up from the bottom, cropping out the shadows in the bottom left corner, to help put more emphasis on the rest of the image. Wonderful shot!

Truly delightful image, Charlie, beautifully composed and executed. The contrast between the cut-out effect of the shadow and the rotundity of the bird is wonderful !!!

The shadow is perfect, Charlie. I also love the variety to textures nd patterns in this shot, especially the scaling on the bird and the roughness of the granite.
