Haven't posted here in a while, but did find this Northern Shoveler in some good light. Angle is not as flat as I would prefer, but there wasn't a way to get lower in this particular spot. Comments always appreciated.

1DIV, EF600, ISO 400, f14, 1/800, Car Window Beanbag, +/- 50% crop from FF.

Excellent detail and exposure, Ralph. I always seem to find them in the weeds-nice to get such a clean view.

They are such underrated ducks in my opinion...woodies get all the glory :roll eyes: Very nice capture of the varied colours in the plumage, sharp as well...and good job on the white areas. I think we see far less blown out whites these days in the posts then back in the early days of digital...remember the Nikon D70 and the Canon D30, not that long ago.

Nice details and colors, Ralph.

I have been trying to get a good image of this specimen at a local pond for the past two weeks. My longest lens is 300mm, so I crawl on my hands and knees to get close enough, but they fly off when they spot me.

Well done!
