End of the day in Mara

We were on our way back to camp slightly disappointed at what was going to be a promising sunset that ended completely covered with heavy clouds. Suddenly the setting sun broke through a gap in the clouds and gave a fantastic opportunity with some topi and zebra walking on a ridge. I went for one of the zebras walking alone and got this shot which came out of camera as you see it. Image taken in the Mara North Conservancy in Kenya

EOS 1D Mark IV - EF300mm f2.8L IS USM - 1/400 sec @ f7.1 - ISO 160

Very cool capture. Maybe more of a pano crop, but the core of it is excellent. A great bit of seeing and reacting.

Beautiful image, Mario! I can well imagine the histogram on this one with the peaks piled up against the left and the right, and nothing in between.....When I show my fresh photography class a histogram like this, almost everyone 'predicts' that the image to be shown to them will be a total washout!
