This small pond is situated amidst the Vermillion lakes in Banff NP. Thanks for looking, comments appreciated.

I like this non-typical subject. I might tone down the wood highlights.

The look at the dead trees and their reflections is very interesting and nicely seen. Being able to see the underwater stones through the reflection of the right snag is a neat addition. The highlights are a bit hot, plus, I think I'd like to see the tip of the snag on the left and it's reflection in the picture.

A tight shot of just that one reflection would be interesting too.

All of the knarled wood, the still water, and the reflections are certainly interesting elements, but what really makes this image for me is the clear view of the bottom of the stream inside the reflection of the right trunk, plus the bit of vegetation on top of that in the water. Ronald has shown one very tight crop to emphasize just that part of the image, but other crops that include some of the other elements would be very workable too. One I might suggest would be a crop down from the top to about the tops of the line of the tree trunks in the background. That would put the focus more on the water and the reflections. Including the grass almost starts giving this image a busy feel IMO. We got to visit these lakes last year. . .definitely looks like the scenery around the Vermillion Lakes.

There are lots of interesting elements in this view, and others have already mentioned some, so it's tempting to offer suggestions for various crops. I'll refrain from that, and let you know that I like the whole thing. The graceful curves of the two snags give me the impression that they are practicing yoga. I think the curves and textures of the dead trees might be emphasized more if you brought the highlights down there. Nice find.

I really like this shot, Carey; especially the way the shadows of the stumps break the glare and show the bottom of the pond. It's a little on the hot side though. I think if you were to dial down the brightness quite a bit while holding the contrast it would look much richer, bring out the texture in the wood and increase the detail in the shadowed bottom rocks.
