In Yosemite Valley recently after a snowfall, I liked how these 2 photographers gave a sense of scale to the magnificent scene.

Canon 5d, M3, ISO160, 32mm, d/16, 1/15 sec, tripod, Nik Silver Effex

Thanks in advance for any comments or critiques.

They do provide a fine sense of scale. The storm clouds and snowy trees work well in b&w. Nicely done.

While we can't see details about the photographers, this long view provides an impressive view of the larger scene while still working great for the theme. I like the way the photographers give some sense of scale to this majestic scene and also add an interesting storytelling element.

Kathy this is a very nice composition. I like the atmosphere created by the clouds and fog around the mountain, the falls and the snow on the trees. As Carolyn said the photographers help create a sense of scale and add to the story. I think this image would be really outstanding if you played with the processing a little more. It is quite grey and an increase in the brightness/highlights would really make this image pop. Also, I would consider cropping it to 5x7 or even 4x5 with the lion's share coming off the top. :wavey:

This is stunning, Kathy. And I agree entirely about the photographers giving a sense of scale. It's good that they had dark clothing so they really stand out. They're not turned so as to be shooting the same scale you're shooting -- it makes the viewer wonder what they were shooting! I like that.

This is a beauty, Kathy. My first thought was of Ansel of course... The gear is just a little newer. I gotta get back up there. :toast:
