Recently, I was invited as a part of jury of a live photography competition with 51 participants and we were supposed to go into the main jungle for only one day. BTW, I find it criminal to go there just for a day. Thinking about the limitation of time & opportunity, I just happened to carry one body with 70-200mm and 1.4x.
Once inside, we happened to find a big herd of elephants, which arrived there, the previous evening. I'm so amazed at the fact that when photo opportunity presented itself, a friend of mine happily lent me his 400mm F 2.8 lens with 2X convertor, resulting in this wonderful image.

.
At times 'He' not only presents opportunities, but provide the essential equipment too, to execute them.

Really, really nice. Love the tender moment between mom and "child" - that up-stretched trunk is just classic! The lighting is nice too (and handled well be the photographer!). I think you nailed the DoF as well - nothing here to distract one from the most important part of the image (the interaction).
To me this image is all about the interaction between the elephants. In that regard I'm left thinking about the B&W conversion - specifically whether or not the conversion adds to the image or not (by taking colour out of the equation perhaps the interaction becomes even MORE dominant than if in colour?). In some other images you've posted showing similar interactions and done B&W conversions (e.g., your last image also called "A Touching Moment") I actually preferred the colour version. So...as I've said before, without seeing the colour version I can't comment on the choice to convert to B&W, but I can say that in absolute terms I really like this shot!

Here's the one without sepia toning.
Looking forward to hearing from you, which one's the best?

Thanks for supplying a fully B&W and a colour version for comparison (I did think the original was a sepia-tone from the outset thus didn't comment on the "colour cast"). In this case I think I prefer the original - so cast my vote for sepia-toned B&W!
It's a great shot - plain and simple.
Cheers...

Well done!:) I prefer the original with sepia tone!
I think junior has stolen the show from mom in this capture!:)
Thanks for sharing!

I prefer the colour version but the re-post of the B& W is also stunning.
Perfect pose
