Wattled Jacana, Capybara

Another photo from the Ibera Marshes in Argentina. Late in the afternoon on our first day at the marshes we watched this Jacana forage in this beautiful wetland all around us, at one point perching upon on a capybara for a seemingly higher vantage point.

Canon MKIV, 600mm & 1.4x, 1/1000, f8, ISO 800, manual spot meter setting. Cropped 20% for semi-pano composition.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

A definite one of a kind! This is one you can safely throw out the rule book on composition. Technically, pretty good detail, although the black on the Jacana could use more detail.

The larger image is a must-see, Ken. Perfect focus throughout both subjects and gorgeous light.

Well done.

Hello Ken

An interesting capture with good interaction. Would enjoy more detail in head and neck area of the Jacana fi available?

Can see a small catchlight in the eye but too dark to see much more.

A very cool shot Ken, love the comp with each looking the opposite direction. I realize I am being picky but maybe a little more depth of field to get the capy as sharp as the jacana. :toast:

Very interesting image. Until I read your description, my mind was not computing on what the bird was standing. :toast:
