Crescent Lake Sunset

Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge at sunset. The refuge is in the middle of the sand hills in western Nebraska. I was there for a sharp-tailed grouse leek the next morning. I was going to camp there that night so I could be in the blind before daylight the next morning. A heavy storm front was moving in from the north and the sky was doing some interesting things. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

Unending depth to this scene, Richard. Needless to say, it is all about the wonderful sky overall. The storm front is very pronounced and it looks like it was about to change the entire look over time. :cool:

Sweet. Just a really nice shot with beautiful sky. I like the vignetting also. Nothing I would change.

Very nice, Richard. I like the great expansive feel this image communicates. Minor nit, but I'm noticing what look like dust bunnies. Maybe time for a sensor cleaning? :wink:

I like the big sky view here. I also like the contrast between the bold color contrast along the horizon and the more subtle contrast in the clouds in the top of the frame. The sliver of reflected light in the pond works well. Of course if you were able to get closer to the pond you might have been able to capture some nice reflections too.

Richard, This is very nice! That is a beautiful sky and I really like the open feel. The pond also adds a nice touch to this scene.
