‘Snow Day’
This cold and wet Chickadee with snow flakes on its head and back sits on a frozen perch and was captured during our last winter weather event here in northwest Georgia. Cropped to 65 % of full frame.

Delightful!
Very sharp, great pose, perfectly framed by the twigs, and complimentary BG.
A couple dust spots or light blips - one below the lower branch, and to the right above the chickadee's head.
Terrific image!

Like the detail and colors on the bird -- snow on the head is nice touch - but -- the oof branches are a distraction

Really nice on the Chickadee itself. The detail is excellent and the wet feathers and ice visible in the larger version are both pluses IMO. The brighter ends on the broken branch it is on and the one above the head do pull my eye. It still looks a bit flashed. Maybe -1 1/3 comp on the flash would be worth a try even if you need to boost the iso to compensate. Well done.

Mike, fine look at this little guy. They are so small that it's hard to get close enough for an image this good. The snow on the bird and the frozen drop hanging off it's perch are a great additions.

Nice capture of this little guy. I particularly like the water drop below the bird. Overall, the image has a clear flashed look to it. -2/3 is causing this. I would be down to at least - 1 2/3 if not more.

Great pose and details, like the frozen drop and bits of snow I see on the bird Mike.
I agree with Keith's suggestion to drop the flash compensation.
If you can see the flash effect, it's probably too much..:wavey:

Excellent detail, Mike, though if anything maybe a bit too much sharpening. I'm seeing some digital jitter in the smallest details on the larger image. The wet and cold really come across well in this image.

Nice sharp image Mike. I wish the flash was a bit less noticeable, but it definitely helped the details at 1/160.

Excellent in every way Mike. Just love the ice crystals on the birds head and the drop of frozen water on the end of the perch. Excellent light and very good exposure. Love the lichen on the branch. The detail in the larger version is stunning. :toast:
