Soft in the Canyon

A small weather disturbance came through northern Arizona this past Saturday, so I made a quick drive to this canyon in hopes of a sunset. I always struggle with the darkness in the canyons at dusk and dawn as they are light sinks at sunset, as opposed to mountain peaks which seem to catch the light.
Nikon D600, 32mm, f/8, 1/13sec, ISO 100, single exposure.
Feel free to offer suggestions and pick nits.

A very pleasing pastel palette, and the depth is palpable. Nicely composed. I can't find anything to complain about.

You certainly didn't struggle with this one Doug, the exposure looks spot on.

Gary.

Nice image and well processed. Perhaps you may consider to darken the sky a bit

Love the colors and shapes stretching from the foreground into the distance. The subtle colors in the sky are a great addition. Very well done, Doug!

I like this gentler feeling. The quiet colors and soft light are most appealing.

Thank you for the feedback.
Chris, I had darkened the sky a couple of points. Perhaps I may try brightening the canyon very slightly too (although the 1200px versions seems brighter to me than the 800px version).
