Thaya Valley in Spring

An image I took a few days ago in National Park Thaya Valley, in the northern part of Lower Austria at the Czech border. The first colors of the upcoming spring complemented by the granite rocks were amazing to my eye.

Comments and critique are appreciated.

Beautiful spring capture. The tree is so compelling that I might crop down a bit to it.

I agree, crop a little off the top and left margin. Perhaps tweak the brightness and saturation up a wee bit to make it pop more. Some really good things going on in the image, you just need to accentuate them a little. :toast:

I agree with both comments. A lot of nice things going on, it just needs some pop, a bit more color and contrast.

Might look better with a duo-tone processing. Worth experimenting.

I agree with you about how wonderful early spring colors are. This shows them off nicely in the trees, but I think it could use better separation between the trees and the rocks. That might mean some different light or waiting a week for the colors to develop. The suggestions about processing might help with that separation also.

Another of your well organized images Peter. Great job of finding this scene amongst the chaos in the woods. I agree with some of the comments to make the tree pop out a bit but this is very nice as is.

Hi Peter, Nice job on this! I like your comp very much and quite enjoy the feel of this image. I do agree a little more separation of the tree and bg would work here but I like it just fine as it is.
