A snap of the Scrub Jay from late January, snowy background.

Another sad day in Central Texas yesterday, we live near Fort Hood.

Beautiful bird on a great perch, set against a high key background. Another notch up on ISO and f/10 gets you maybe the feet and the rest of the perch in focus. The important stuff is tack sharp; I wish for just a bit more.

Another great image and title Howard. The head is sharp and the perch is soft making the bird stand out more. Good job!

Nice work with that white background. Good detail and exposure; the wood adds nice texture.

Nice job with some really tough conditions Howard. Nice detail where it matters and that wooden bucket makes a very interesting perch.

Sweet image, Howard. Great pose and your old whiskey barrel makes a wonderful perch.

My wife put in a couple of tours at Ft. Hood. A very sad day.

Nice and sharp with good detail and colors and nice soft light. The nut or seed is a nice touch. One of those rare snowy Texas days!

Very nice detail in this image Howard. I am fine with the DOF as presented. Agree with you about Ft Hood. I hope somehow they can be comforted.
