Bald Eagle Diving

Another eagle photo from the Hood Canal last June. The eagles will often cruise above the water as the tide recedes looking for spawning fish caught in the oyster beds, and will dive suddenly upon spotting a meal.

Canon MKIV, 600mm, 1/2500, f8, ISO 800, Manual exposure, spot meter, 85% full frame

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Pretty cool diving posture and nice comp, Ken. The intense stare of the bird concentrating on its prey is a real plus.

Killer image - that intense stare and exceptional detail in the head and feathers is excellent.
Night mottled blue water too -

This looks really good, Ken. The diving pose is pretty awesome. If I were being picky, and I am... I wish that the face was as sharp as that far right wing. But it's still pretty darn good. :toast:

Very nice, dynamic flight shot. Intense stare really adds to the image. Nice background, I would be temped to run a round of noise reduction on the background only. Very nice :toast:

Wonderful eagle flight shot. I like the intense or concentrated look as it dives and the complimentary background. Nice job of dialing in the manual exposure, well done.

WOW....a killer shot literally. First the image then the fish he has a bead on. Even with a bit of noise in the BG it really does a nice job of making the eagle pop. Really cool! :toast:

Great, great, great! I had to blow up the image four-fold to even see the few spots of noise. If you want to be picky, some light NR.

Excellent detail and a great flight pose, Ken. A good look at the eye, and it's interesting to get top and bottom wing surfaces in a single image.

Hi Ken! While this is pretty much an echo of what others have said, I absolutely love this image because of the killer intense look on the eagle's face and the wonderful background that does hint at the environment you found and photographed this in. Really nice eagle image.

Wonderful capture Ken! The feather and head detail is superb!
Also, the BG really accents the diving eagle.
