Poppy - Generations

Hi Everyone,

I was lucky to find this 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' set of poppies right next to each other and get them all sharp in a pleasing composition. Thought it was an interesting set and wanted to share the results. The background was bright and a bit messy, so had to really open up the lens to blur it as much as possible. I like the result but am curious what you think.

Nikon D800 ISO 400 1/125 sec @ f/4.8

Thanks for taking a look and for your comments and suggestions.

Sanjay

Nice concept, Sanjay, well executed. I like the peek we get of the flower centre and the beautifully variegated background.

What a great comp of the poppy in various growth stages! Good job in lining up the elements in the same focal plane. The cheerful, blurred background works well, especially with the pink flower. I like this result! Yes, sometimes we like to say the flower should all be in focus but I think your focus on the outer petals works nicely here.

I really like the variety in the progress of flower to seeds here. Back ground is a bit distracting. Could maybe see burning it down a bit and maybe dodging up the flowers parts.
