I am going through my archives to look at photos I haven't seen in eons, and re-process them with the software I now use. This was an image I took on December 26, 2004, just hours after the South Asian Tsunami hit. (Of course I was in SE Asia at that time... where else would I be? I am always where large disasters happen, when they happen.)

Any feedback on this image is much appreciated. As a novice photographer, I was using sub-par gear at the time. I think I have gotten everything I could out of the image, but I'm not sure.

Sony Mavica MVC-CD350 (A camera that recorded files on a mini CD, of all things!)
f 4.5 (because I was shooting with everything on auto, of course :frown: )
1/250 s.
ISO 100

Thanks in advance for any C&C. Tolerance for honesty: 10/10!

Gee, I find this image to be utterly enchanting. You just don't come across scenes like this everyday. The hint of color is ideal, as is your processing.

Remarkable image Rebecka. One suggestion I have is to try and bring just a little bit of detail out of the shadow areas in the lower left and foreground boats.

This is excellent. I love the foggy look, adds a dreamy mood to the image.

Like a movie set, classic, the setting of this scene could not be improved even in my wildest dreams. :toast: :toast:

This looks very good, Rebecka. You've got good details in the boats and a fine sense of added mystery as the scene fades into the fog. My personal preference would be to not have such a strong vignette, but that's an artistic choice.

This is great Rebecka the Sony Mavica did you fine at least at this resolution. Love the subtle colours and the gorgeous atmosphere.

This is lovely, Rebecka. There's a nice sense of movement due to the varied positions of the boats. The karst towers add a nice dimension, as does the fog. I agree with Mark that the vignette is a little strong. The composition and mood are excellent.

Mesmerizing image - the tough of colour amidst the fog is charming. I agree about trying to reclaim a little detail in the left shadows.
Congrats on a fine WP!

Great stuff and proof that great photography is made by the photographer, not by the gear..
