Another eagle from my trip last fall to Alaska.

This beautiful adult posed very nicely for some portraits in late afternoon light (one of the few days we had something other than cloud cover).

Techs:

Canon 5D Mark III
500mm f/4 with 1.4x TC
ISO 400
1/1600 @ f/6.3

About 90% of Full Frame

Not called or baited in any way.

Nice to see a bird pic "as is" so to speak. So much going on these days with setups and sticking bits on etc- it's hard to know where bird photography is going. As I said earlier wish we had some exoticy stuff over here !! Classic pose too. Even with my little puddle stuff I love the "back on head over shoulder "pose- even with smaller stuff.

Wonderful portrait, I fully support John's comment on baiting etc. there is far too much "cheating" going on in all aspects of photography.

Excellent light and head turn. Great eagle image. Details are very nice and I love the perch. Wish the bold in the background was not there. Would have been absolutely perfect. As is still a nearly perfect image. Would love to have this.
