Muscari 2

Hi all.

Here is another version of the muscari shot that I posted yesterday. Jim suggested that these stems could work well as a vertical, and I agree (and had shot some back when I shot the others).

Any and all thoughts appreciated.

This is beautiful, Nathan! I like the POF, DOF, and bg. I slightly prefer this verticle version, but I also like the horizontal version a lot.

That is a beautiful flower. Such nice little details and texture. I really like this with the large aperture. I'd probably never think to try it. The background and shallow DOF give a nice mood.
I like the vertical crop also.

For me, only thing I'd adjust is bring exposure, or highlights on the flower, down just a touch.

Most excellent focusing, Nathan, and a beautifully graded bg. Prefer this to the horizontal version ( despite a personal predilection for giving flowers space !! ), as these particular flowers seem to me to suit the portrait format better.

I like this vertical version much better as it seems to have a nice overall balance with the longer stems, well done.

I like this much better than the previous landscape one, Nathan. Perfect touch! I can't see how you could improve on this! :toast: :toast:

I sure like the position of the blooms and the gentle washes of color in the background. As a dof nut, I'd like to see a bit more sharpness in the back bloom.
