12/3/13 This Snow Goose landing was shot in Keith Bauer's workshope at Bosque del Apache. I am a wee bit behind deleting and processing the 7000+ images I took while there. Sorting these is a bit like a treasure hunt.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm 1.4TC 850mm 1/2000 f/9 ISO160 White Balance Sunny Taken on a tripod with a Wimberley Gimbal. Processed in Lightroom, CS6, Nik and TK.

Patrick,
Love the crop you chose for this. Looks like early morning or late afternoon light judging by the shadow from the bill. Nice job on the exposure of both the whites and the blacks. Larger version shows good detail. Background is nicely blurred. This is a great start to the images I trust we will get to see from your trip?? Looking forward to seeing more.
Are you still good for next weekend?? Even though Charlie can't make it I can. Let me know. Hope you are feeling better.

Nice incoming flight shot, sweet light and very sharp. It looks a bit yellow to me but I expect that is just from the late day light.

Lovely light, pose and BG. In the large image, the sharpness is pushing the envelope a bit, but that is probably a difference in taste. No real nits and better than I have taken! :toast:

A lovely Flight shot, with the shadows pulling a lot of detail out we'd otherwise miss. There's a bit of a halo along the edges of the shadow cast by the neck on the body; I'd suggest selective sharpening or backing the sharpening down a bit.

Patrick:

This is a very nice frame. Great pose and you were able to capture it against the cottonwoods as a background. Nice sharpness. Gotta love that late afternoon light, just doesn't get better. Very nice capture.
