Jefferson,
You took advantage of a great opportunity. Nicely done. Is this full frame? If not I would add just a touch of canvas on top. I would also clone out the green shoots sticking out of the right side of the branch as well as the dead branch with nothing on it on the left side of the branch. Somewhat distracting. Otherwise you got a very sharp image here with a great head turn and a good background.

Love the left foot gripping the top of the perch. Excellent detail and sharpness in some great light. Also I really like the two tone BG, works especially well on this image.

I agree with David's cloning recommendations, at least as far as the green twirly stuff. Excellent shot, otherwise. Some more headroom would help and easily done.

Thanks for your comments, guys.
I've worked a little on the image, trying to improve it as you suggest.
I would appreciate your comments on the changes I've done.

A sweet image to start with Jefferson, and the repost is even better. Well done.

And excellent bird and excellent photo. I'm not usually a fan of cloning, but I have to agree the repost improves an already strong shot.

Nice detail and perch Jefferson. I'd be tempted to remove the green grass seeds???
