After heavy rains is common to find on the beaches trunks that the rivers lead to the sea, several with surprising forms.
Canon 5DII, Canon 17-40 mm f4L, ISO 100, CPL. Manual blending of two exposures. Please see larger version

Wonderful image of the sea, as always. I love the shapes of the wooden trunk and the rock, as they echo each other in color and form. Can you please say what the shutter speed was? That trunk must be rooted quite deeply in the sand to stay still for two exposures!

Thanks for your comment Kathy. The exposure was 0.5s@f13, blending only the sky. The water and trunk is from an exposure.

I really like this, I know I would be quite capable of walking past this and totally missing the potential when shot at what? around 1 second. I can't offer any suggestions for improvement.

Jose, This is wonderful!! You comp works so well and I love the contrast with all the detail in the stump and the motion of the water. That incoming wave looks great as well. This image has a very cool mood! :toast:

Beautiful ! The receding waves draw the attention right into the frame. Might make an interesting B&W too, IMHO.

Another beautiful seascape in your signature style. Capturing the perfect timing of the breaking waves is key to this type of image and your intuition is always spot on. The gnarled trunk is a wonderful find and perfectly placed in the frame.

Love the water action and how you placed the different elements in the frame
