Winter Wildernes

Taken earlier this year in Kananaskis country, a very beautiful part of the Canadian Rockies but a little isolated in wintertime. All I can say is, if you go there don't get stuck like I did because there's no cell phone service and not a lot of traffic. Fortunately someone came by with a Sat. phone and arranged for a truck to winch me out but it was quite expensive :frown:.

Thanks for looking, c&c appreciated.

Really nice B&W.
It has a huge amount of contrast, nice blacks and whites, nice lighting, just superb.

Beautiful b/w, Carey. The lighting is extremely nice. There appears to be some pretty strong haloing on the left and center peaks. I think once that is fixed this would make an amazing print.

Great winter scene and excellent BW conversion. It's a good image, though, compositionally, it feels a little unbalanced to me - weighted to the left due to the very prominent mountain, which really draws my eye away from the rest of the scene.

I like the B&W conversion here - I think you did it very well. Also, I feel the lack of color echos the stillness and coldness of the scene with snow.
