This is a photo of a Chestnut-headed Bee-eater taken in Langkawi, Malaysia. (February 2014). Another beautiful bird, full of personality, perfect hunter with agility and focus.
Photo was edited and cropped in Adobe Photoshop.

Another beauty. The colors in these birds are a pleasure to study. I might take a little off the left to pull it more out of the center. Nice job.

Thank you Rick, they are fun to watch and track with the camera. Certainly gives me plenty to practice with. It is a science to study these colors, I prefer being out in the field. I do the editing and finishing myself.

I love these guys. The small image makes it difficult to do an in depth critique. However, I like what I see.

John,
Beeaters are all wonderfully coloured and this is no exception.

Thank you Ken, my first encounter photographing them. Still amazed at how consistently they catch a bee, butterfly/moth or a dragon fly in mid air. The colors make them neat to photograph.

Hi John,
This is a nice clean look at this beautiful species. I have to question the techs here. There's too much noise in the bg and the image quality doesn't look great, the 7D doesn't perform very well over iso 500 and you had plenty of light to drop the iso down.

Nate, Well I was attempting to capture the bird with a better background so I lowered the f-stop. My intention was to capture the bird at a lower level to the ground in some dried bushes with some nice light. This bird however kept flying from one end to another on some high branches. I also was looking to capture the bird flying and catching its food, so I increased my speed. The iso was increased to compensate for the darker image from a lower f stop. Normally I set the camera in RAW mode and then shoot photos at a set exposure. I then do the post edits in Adobe Lightroom.
