One from last May, since that was the last time I tripped the shutter on a landscape scene! Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

This is a very interesting image, that I find myself drawn to. It is a duet between the tree trunks and the greenery. The greenery, I guess rhododendrons or azaleas, are beautifully depicted. Then the juxtaposition of all the various sized tree trunks, all add up to a beautiful harmony, well balanced. The fog sets a peaceful mood.

Love the majestic presence of the trees, Chris, the lush green rhododendrons and ferns, and the mood setting fog. Your chosen perspective is so spot on; I get my nose about 12inches from the large image and I feel enveloped in the forest, as though I'm there in the rain. Superb.
Hey, that new computer of yours sounds sweet.

Nice image of this lush, temperate rain forest, Chris. You might consider correcting the distortion, so the trees don't appear to be falling backwards. The comp sort of has the frame divided down the middle, but I think it works ok in this case.

Wonderful detail and mood in the large version Chris and a really well put together scene. Very difficult to organize these type of scenes and you've done a great job here. Very well done. :toast:

This giant trees are mesmerizing. Great take, the mood of the fog is spilling all over my desk. This image really jumps at me with a crop from the bottom, the distortion was mentioned.

Welcome back Chris! This is a beautiful somewhat primordial scene that really needs to be seen large in order to appreciate the flowers and all the detail. Well done. Hope to see more from you soon.

The large view takes me right, smack dab in the middle, of this forest. I can feel the rain and almost smell the lush vegetation. Very nice, Chris. I hope you venture back into the world of landscape soon.

Thanks for the comments so far.
I here ya about the distortion. But, I personally like it, and I think it actually helps give a sense of depth here that is a plus in my view.

My main suggestion is to not wait so long between outings! ;) This has a great mood; the pink flashes of color are sweet against the lush backdrop. Nice work!

Thanks Stuart!
Not sure what you mean by your question. But, I'm not getting Landscapes out of my system. I just have not had much opportunity to get out and shoot them in about a year. This shot, I captured last May, while on a vacation with my wife for our anniversary. I actually chomping at the bit to get out, just don't know how and when a trip will materialize.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris - it's great to see some new work from you. As always this is exceptional. The strong vertical lines work well in your composition and the fog contrasted with the vibrant greens sets the mood nicely. I hope you can get out to shoot more in the upcoming year. :wavey:
