Sony A77
Minolta 100mm macro
ISO 400, 1/80 @ f11

Finally got one of the Jane Magnolia buds (actually Pristine Potential) to open close enough to the ground that I could get a look inside. For many years this flower was a bit of a nemesis for me but I'm getting more familiar with it and feel like I'm actually getting somewhere with them. Of course I could merely be proving the adage that if you push a shutter button enough times some of them will turn out. All comments welcome. >=))>

Ah, there is hope for spring! Lovely image with the clarity of the center as the focus. Well done.

My husband decided to raise the branches of our magnolia so he could the lawnmower under it. All I can suggest is to get the long lens out.

Great tones and hues, Bill. The center of the flower is beautiful. A very nice photo.

Despite your observation (pushing a shutter button), this is not like monkeys turned loose on typewriters, accidentally typing one of Shakespeare's masterpieces! I have the same nemesis with these. This is not only good work, but a better way to look at these than just puttering around the outside. Food for thought! :toast:
