Canon 5D MK III, 100-400 IS on HH F 11 1/400 iso 1600 exp -.3 Shot at last light. Raw processed in DPP sizing 65% of frame in CS6. NR using Noiseware Pro.

The light was just about gone and I was heading back to our condo for the night when I saw this guy trying for one or two last snacks. I caught him as he was walking back onto the beach before flipping his prize to swallow it. I liked the shot because the ebbing wave trapped the shell against his foot.

C&C always welcome.

Gorgeous light, detail and action, Rick. Very well done. The fish is perfect.

Sweet shot Rick. I really like the way the fish stands out against the darker BG. Nicely composed.

Good thing you turned around. I like the pose with the soft light plus the fish and shell add something extra, way to go.

Nice capture for both you and the egret. Light in this is great...wondering what the white thing is between the toes? Almost looks like a mushroom, but that wouldn't make any sense.

This image really pops in that light. I was wondering the same thing as Kurt, is that a rock or a shell?

Thanks for the comments. The white object against his foot is a shell that is being held there by the force of the receding wave. It shows up better in the larger version.

The late light is very nice Rick, love the action pose as well.
Great details, really like the view of the fish in beak here! :toast: :toast:
